In Progress…

14th July 2009

We enjoyed Sherwood Arts Week so much that we are looking for new projects to get involved in. We are making plans to hold some events for The Big Draw and we’ve got a few ideas that we’re getting excited about. Unfortunately we cannot divulge them at this stage but lets just say once we’ve made a decision you’ll be the first to know.

Painted half of the corridor white and have decided to wallpaper the other half. More welcoming and homely. We’re all very excited by this!  Going to collect samples this week.

After a meet up in the pub about SAW a drunken man tried to pay Adam to play Johnny Cash. We think he thought the laptop was a jukebox. He then went on to ask Adam if he’d ever rode a tractor and sang a song about him riding a JCB. We were then serenaded by ‘You’re Beautiful’ by James Blunt. There was lots of  laughter and a small amount of fear.

We’ve got 5 weeks to go and counting! There is much to do but we now have logo and are in the process of getting a brand new sign made. We’ve got a painting day in our diaries and ideas are flowing.

We’ve decided to have a record player at the event and invite people to bring their own record to play whilst experiencing the show. Think it will create a friendly atmosphere.

13th April 2009

Had a very focussed discussion about the exhibition aspect of our event, which is part of Sherwood Arts Week. We all have ideas about what we’re making and starting to think about how to curate the work.

Our plan is to investigate different lighting options, refresh the space with a coat of paint and look into getting a new sign. We are intending on having a brochure too and are very excited by this!
